Types of workflow items

Backshop provides five types of workflow items:

Task

The task function is simple. When the task is finished, click the Yes button. To skip this task, click the Skip button.

When you mark a task as done, it affects other parts of the application.

Notification

When you hit the Create button, the Notifications page opens, then you send the notification out.

When you send a notification, it affects other parts of the application.

Approval

When an item is approved, click the Yes button. To skip this approval, click the Skip button.

Approvals propagate into relevant parts of the application.

Decision

The Decision function lets you change the workflow items based on a certain condition. For example, the requirement might be “Loan amount is under $10,000,000.”

If the loan fits that description, you can click the Yes button, and some workflow items might turn to N/A, based on your settings in the Admin section.

If the loan does not fit the description, click the No button. The workflow items will behave according to your Admin settings.

You can Reset the decision, and it will restore the original settings. To do this, click the Reset checkbox at the far right, then click the Update button.

Decisions have no effect on other functions or pages in the application.

Question

Each question has a short title, which is displayed on the Workflow page, and it has a longer description (the full question) that appears when you mouse over the short title.

Each question has a response field, which shows at the far right of the page. This field is set up in the Admin section. It can be a text box, a dropdown menu, a numeric field or a percentage field.

You can Reset the question, and it will delete your response. To do this, click the Reset checkbox at the far right, then click the Update button.

If you like, you can click the Skip button and not answer the question.

Questions have no effect on other functions or pages in the application.
